About us
Veg NI are a collective of farmers who believe in the power of Northern Irish veg. Through industry collaboration, customer promotion and public education, Veg NI aim to get local produce onto the plates of local people, benefiting them, the industry and the planet.
Why we exist
We all know vegetables are essential for a balanced and healthy diet, but with less time in transit, local veg is packed with even more vitamins and fewer preservatives – making it a healthier choice.
our mission
Our mission is to bring local vegetables to local people, by championing the power and value of our homegrown produce, through collaboration, promotion and education.
Our beliefs
We believe that to create a lasting industry, we must think of the customer before ourselves – proving that local produce offers best quality, taste and value possible. By increasing customer demand, we future-proof our industry.
Commoditised and sold ‘below-cost’ for too long, we believe in elevating the value of our product and the positive economic, societal and environmental contribution of our industry. We add value and the price of our product should reflect this.
We believe in working together in a dynamic, inclusive and collaborative sector – attractive for workers and future entrants – fostering long-term growth and success.
We believe in protecting our immediate and wider environment, and in promoting local produce as a sustainable choice for our customers. By working together we can collectively reduce our environmental impact.
